Resources

The Washington Trust works with dozens of national, state, and local preservation organizations and agencies, as well as Certified Local Governments (CLGs) which provide preservation resources, technical information, and in some cases financial assistance.  Together, we form a network of resources for individuals, property owners, elected officials interested in saving historic buildings, developing strategies to revitalize downtowns, and putting together historic rehabilitation development projects.

We are often asked for guidance on sources of funding for historic preservation projects.  A brief list below will point the historic property owner to some of the most accessible funding, financing, and financial incentives for historic preservation.

With the completion of Revisiting Washington: A Guide to the Evergreen State, our multi-media, interactive travel guide, the Washington Trust made its first foray into promoting historic preservation through heritage tourism.  We invite you to send us links to websites that highlight historic communities in Washington State, and we'll add them to our list of heritage tourism resources.
